Saturday 11th August 2018 to Friday 17th August 2018, All Day
Cromer Carnival is one of the most popular Summer events in North Norfolk. The 2018 carnival week runs from Saturday 11th August to Friday 17th August, with the carnival procession taking place on Wednesday 15th August (Carnival Day).
Leading up to the carnival there are 2 weeks of free children’s events which take place on the beach, promenade and pier. In town you can follow the Cromer Carnival Trail; which is always buzzing with excitement.
During the carnival week, the main playing field on the east side of town offers an arena for displays, competitions and events. Here, you’ll find the main carnival attractions, funfair rides, craft tents and a large marquee where evening entertainment takes place.
The Cromer Carnival parade is the high point of the carnival and not to be missed. During the late afternoon on carnival day, from 4pm onwards, the town begins to close the main high street and parking is very limited.
The easiest way to attend the main procession is to leave the car at the nominated park & ride and walk (or catch a bus) into town for a small fee.
Then, to follow, there’s a fun evening of music, dance, colour and the entire town comes out to play!
Most of the events during carnival week are free, although to enter the main arena on the carnival day an entrance fee applies. The carnival usually rounds off with a magnificent closing fireworks display at the end of the week.
To keep track of what’s on offer this year, visit the Cromer Carnival website and look out for the printed guides which can be picked up throughout Cromer nearer the time.
